On August 12, CAP organized a trip to Ottawa with the Omega Center for its residents in the appartment program and members of the Omega Center.
It was a fun-filled day of sight-seeing as we made our way to Parliament Hill for a guided tour of the grounds where we learned some of the history surrounding Ottawa and the Parliament buildings.
We enjoyed sandwiches, cheese, and crackers in the parc for lunch before heading out to explore ByWard Market to see what it had to offer. Some of the residents enjoyed snacks such as beavertails or treated themselves to handcrafted jewellery.
To finish off the day, we went to the National Gallery to see the Alex Colville exhibition. Some people then went off to see other exhibits the museum had to offer such as the contemporary art exhibit or the European artwork exhibit.
It was an exciting day and the residents look forward to the next outing CAP has to offer!
A big thank you to CAP’s Diane and Omega’s Joe for organizing the trip!
