WICA was sad to hear about the passing of Mary McAskill who would have celebrated her 100th birthday this year. She was a long-time volunteer for WICA and when she needed help herself, she was matched with a volunteer who visited her every week, sometimes twice a week, for the past 11 years. They were great friends and they enjoyed each other’s company.
Since 1976, WICA has been matching volunteers with the most vulnerable members of society such as; seniors, the intellectually and physically challenged as well as those experiencing mental health problems. WICA is in great need for new volunteers to fill the growing need in the community.
You too can make a difference in someone’s life!
