Over the past year, it has been difficult to stay up to date on the latest information regarding Covid and now that the vaccine has become available, it leaves us with a lot of questions. This will be followed by an open-question session to address all concerns.

Know Your Tablet: A Beginner’s Guide

Tablets have become overwhelmingly popular during the Covid crisis.  Although many of you might use it to keep in touch with your loved ones, there are many other things that tablets can do for you, especially during this time. Bring your tablet and join us to discover new ways to enjoy your tablet. A question and answer session will follow where your individual concerns can be addressed.

Topics include:

– Identifying parts of your tablet

– Gestures (Tap, Drag, Scroll, Swipe, Pinch to Zoom, Double Tap)

– Internet / WiFi / Connecting your device

– Tablet Navigation

– Its various uses (ie: email, banking, shopping, virtual visits, etc.)

Curbing the Effects of Isolation on Mental Health 

March 12th 1:30-3:30pm

In this time of pandemic, people are facing isolation like never before. This talk will be on the effects of isolation on mental health and what can be done about them. We will be discussing the effects of isolation on depression and anxiety and how isolation can push even people of good mental health in those directions. We will look at some coping strategies that are good for everyone and present some resources in the community for those who may need them.

Resilience is the quality of recovering quickly from failure and adversity, and not only returning to what was but using the opportunity to grow and further your personal growth.

Identifying and using your Character Strengths in times of adversity can prove to a helpful tool in building resilience.

Preventing Fraud

Scams can appear in many different forms, targeting both experienced investors and average retail customers.  Especially during these pandemic times, you always need to be on your guard when it comes to banking and other money matters.

Phishing scams are attempts by scammers to trick you into giving out personal information such as your bank account numbers, passwords and credit card numbers. This course will provide you with the tools required to protect yourself from various forms of fraud.
