Giving Tuesday: CAP help is on the way – Online.

Thank you so much for your generosity with our #GivingTuesday campaign. We’re so close to our goal!  Please help us make this happen.

There is no stopping us when it comes to helping our CAP (Church Apartment Program) residents.

For the past three months a CAP worker at WICA has been running weekly philosophy sessions and through Zoom during the lockdown. Russell Hartt holds a degree in philosophy from McGill and he has put that to work by providing supportive one-on-one sessions.

“It is part of our attempt to break the isolation during these times”, says Hartt. “In whatever way possible, it’s all about the friendly voice on the other end.”

Our CAP program provides housing and social support for those living with mental health issues. Our CAP workers are on the phone every day checking in with our residents, reminding them of government protocol, and offering support with mental health issues.

“It’s nice to know that help is a zoom call away”, says one of the residents. “It makes a world of difference for me to be able to connect in these sessions.  It’s what’s getting me through this.”

Please help us continue our mission by making a donation through our Giving Tuesday Campaign.
