Important Update for Advocates

Important Update for Advocates

In response to the recommendations from the Québec government, we are stopping all home-visits and social outings with protégés until further notice.

Keep in touch with your Protégés!
We encourage you to stay in contact with your protégés by phone. It is especially important to check in with our isolated and vulnerable protégés to offer them social support, reassurance and to make sure they have access to the resources they need.

In order to protect your privacy when you call, you can block your phone number:

  • Dialing *67 before you call your protégés.
  • iPhone users also have the option to hide caller ID in their settings:
    • Click settings
    • Click phone
    • Click show my caller ID, Unselect show my caller ID

If you are matched with protégés who reside in private residences or long term care facilities such as a CHSLD, the Québec government has restricted access for visitors. For more information, please consult the government’s website at: https://www.quebec.ca/en/health/health-issues/a-z/2019-coronavirus/

How you can help the isolated people in the community:

We are in the process of compiling a bank of resources that will be helpful to the West Island community at large. We will be working to support isolated people in the community to ensure they have access to groceries, medicine and other necessities. If you would like to help, contact us for more information at info@pcbo-wica.com or at 514-694-5850.

If you are worried or anxious about the Coronavirus, you can contact the Québec Government toll-free line 1-877-644-4545.

We thank you for your continued support and collaboration.
